Brixcam upgraded …!
November 4, 2020

Good news.
Today sees our new, upgraded webcam go online. Hurrah!
The previous one had served us well with 24/7 coverage, in all weathers, for the past 4.5 years.
It has been viewed over 200,000 times in total, but it was starting to become temperamental and was showing its age.
The new one also has some added features which we will be experimenting with over the coming days.
These include increased zoom magnification, variable speed transitioning between frames (for easier viewing) and the ability to schedule different tours over the 24 hr period.
So watch this space as we play around with the settings and ….. keep on enjoying the views!
Webcam
…. and finally, a big thank you to Les from Camsecure for your sterling efforts to get the new one up and running.
We highly recommend Camsecure.co.uk for all CCTV, webcam, security and live streaming / hosting requirements

Temporary Closure – to help combat spread of COVD-19 virus
March 20, 2020
After careful consideration of the latest official advice regarding limiting the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Claire and I have now reluctantly decided to close our doors to all guests forthwith and until further notice.
This was a very difficult decision for us to take and we hope that you will understand our reasoning for doing so.
Basically this is because we believe it is in the best health interests of all of our guests, ourselves, family and neighbours and for the wider community as a whole.
We do not – at this time – expect to re-open before at least June at the earliest.
Over the next few days we will be contacting those remaining guests who have not yet already cancelled their April and May dates and we will be updating in due course those guests booked for June and beyond.
We have decided not to take any new bookings at this time for accommodation required before July. However, should the countrywide situation improve sooner than expected, we will update you and may then be able to offer accommodation before this.
We very much regret having to do this, but feel that it would be irresponsible of us to remain open at this time and thereby encourage guests to travel here from all over the country before this pandemic is fully under control.
It truly saddens us to have to declare ourselves closed like this and to have to turn away any guest.
In the meantime, we will still be here and doing whatever we can to assist those most in need in Brixham and hope to see things back to normal as soon as possible.
And – of course – our live webcam is still up and running so you can still get your Brixham fix – even if you adhere to the official advice not to travel here .
Stay safe and well, everyone. Be kind … and we look forward to seeing you all again very soon.
Our very best wishes to you all.
Chris and Claire Toghill.

Building Frontage Exterior Maintenance Begins
February 26, 2018
Maintenance and refurbishment work starts today on the exterior frontage of our building. WE REMAIN FULLY OPEN during these essential works which are scheduled to last approximately 8 weeks. The scaffold erectors from REACH Scaffolding are doing a great job today in this very cold weather!
For those of you who regularly view our Live Web Cam, on our site or the linked Torbay Lifeboat site, we are hoping that the scaffold won’t obstruct the views from Brixcam too much or for too long.
Please visit out Facebook page for regular updates.
Look out for our fresh new paint job in a few weeks time!
Fabulous new Web Cam!
May 14, 2016
Our fabulous new HD Web Cam (Brixcam) is running live streaming from today!
See it here… Brixcam
Installed and tested yesterday, it is a huge step forward compared to the previous camera.
Clearer images of beautiful Brixham (the same as seen from most of our guests rooms!), clear views of the fish quay, harbour, Marina, lifeboat station and the breakwater. Watch the trawlers, ferries and the heritage fleet and pleasure craft come and go. With smoother transitions, more pre-set views, Infra-red for improved night time use plus 20x zoom, you can now see more clearly all the activity and the fabulous views across the harbour and Torbay …
And this will only improve once we get the superfast fibre broadband installed…
Check it out and let us know what you think. Happy viewing.
Then come and see the real thing … Visit Brixham!
Many thanks to Les, Les, David and Shep for your assistance in getting this sorted!
Updated web-site now live!
February 5, 2016
Check out our fully refurbished web-site at www.seatang-guesthouse.com
We are currently working with WorldPay to finalise secure online payments and we will then make the “Availability, booking and payments” sections available too!
This should be in the next few days and we will let you know just as soon as it is available.
Although the site address is unchanged, this is a brand new site and – whilst we have tested it offline – there may still be some initial teething issues now that it is live.
We welcome any observations or feedback you wish to give us, so do email us your thoughts using the “Contact” page on the website.
Thank you.
Winter refurbishment works complete
December 27, 2015
We are pleased to announce that the total refurbishment of our kitchen, laundry and office areas is now complete. The very old installation, which we inherited when we bought the business, really wasn’t up to the job. So we closed for six weeks, stripped everything out back to bare walls, put in a new ceiling, re-plastered all the walls, installed new plumbing, new electrics and a brand new fitted kitchen with new appliances.
All the trades, equipment and furniture were sourced locally as we are committed to supporting local business.
Now we are open for business again and can be even more sure of our catering hygiene and safety in the workplace. Thanks to the building and trades team who helped us put this together.
